PRIVATE TRAINER PROFILE GABRIYEL ATREYU BSc MPT Exercise Physiology

Hi, my name is Gabriyel and I come from Europe and sport is my passion.
You will most likely notice an eclectic approach to physical fitness through the pictures and videos on this site. It is just that eclectic, fun, innovative, functional. It works by filling you with self-confidence in your abilities as a physical human being. I also will note that this site is work in process! : - ) I went to University in Stockholm, Sweden and have studied exercise physiology, and now I live in Newport Coast and I teach functional physical fitness strength and conditioning. In this bio I will briefly outline my road in the fitness strength and conditioning and give you a little background information about my experience as the private fitness trainer. I've been professionally involved with interval circuit strength training since 1994. Working, and training in Europe (Sweden, Switzerland, Germany and England) before coming to U.S.A. ( via Chicago, Los Angeles, Orange County). Going back (a while back), taking the strength training seriously for me started at my romantic tender age of 14. What can I say, I fell in love with this girl, I won't tell names (Diana). I was a bit on a chubby side, she wasn't, I ate junk food, she didn't (and-yes-she was crazy beautiful, brunette, big brown eyes...) ANYHOW, it didn't workout. Moving on, so the functional fitness strength training came about from the sheer necessity to look good and to have a girlfriend. Yep, so sad but true! (If women only new, what we go through for their affection!) Years have passed since. And I actually haven't thought about Diana until now while writing this short bio. (Wishing her well!) In England, an art of movement "ParKour" came across my journey. And I fell in love again! : - )) And my life evolved again. It helped me to discover myself and to understand myself deeply. I have learned how to move and to push my body further then I could imagine. It has helped me to find focus, control my abilities, my skills, my mind and to control my fears. It is a very demanding and a complex sport where you work all the parts of your body. In retrospect, I love the journey of my life. I'm content/happy : - ) in my understanding that life is the playground. And that sometimes it is necessary to be able to see it trough the eyes of the child. As my physical fitness was getting better so did my strength and conditioning trainers. I have had a once in the lifetime opportunity to train in Sweden and later on in Iceland and Russia with some of the strongest and the most conditioned men and women I have ever met in my young life. (I'm 33 by the way) : - ) Unfortunately this type of training is not quite universally accepted. However, as the time goes by, more and more people that I see now, are now getting tired with the same old Body-Building mentality training routine. Not to be misunderstood, I don't think any specific type of training is bad, I just believe you should be doing more then just be bench pressing yourself into oblivion. Regardless, common denominator still for all us, is the love of exercise. To have an "Athletic Body in Balance"! My parents use to tell me that the best way to find out who someone is like, would be to go and exercise together, to do something together. So be that fitness training, a hiking trip, rock climbing, skydiving, riding a bicycle, swimming or just having sex! They are all considered physical activities. Since we are after-all physical beings. You could, (some would say) sit down have a chat, and chat some more to find out who someone is, however if you do something physically together, if that person is less then honest you will find that out rather quickly. Anyhow, I think you understand what I mean! : - )
