PARKOUR STRENGTH TRAINING Parkour Physical Fitness Conditioning-Balance-Endurance
PARKOUR STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
Parkour is a metaphor for life, overcoming obstacles!
In order to learn Parkour, you have an obligation to play!
Parkour is often regarded as a sport, but because there is no formal hierarchy, no set rules, no competitiveness and no teamwork, it is more or less better categorized as a discipline or an art, especially when compared to martial arts and self defense.
While the physical aspects of Parkour have to do with overcoming obstacles in your path in the event of an emergency, there is a lot that Parkour can do to strengthen your physical fitness overall as well.
It has been said that while martial arts are training for a fight, Parkour on the other hand is training for a flight.:-)
OBSTACLES and OPPORTUNITY
The Moto: Always keep training!
Safety (health) always comes first, a working body is very important.
Parkour is quite interesting and innovative, and is commonly referred to as PK or l'art du deplacement, and that involves moving from one point to another point with as much speed and efficiency as possible using the natural abilities of the human body.
Parkour is often used as a means of overcoming obstacles ranging from branches and rocks to concrete walls, rails, and even entire buildings in some cases.
Parkour is most commonly practiced in urban areas, but also has been known to see some use in rural areas as well. The people who practice Parkour are commonly regarded as traceurs or traceuses.
Parkour is quite often used as the means of developing ones body and mind to overcome obstacles efficiently using only your human body.
Parkour is truly in a category of its own, which is why many traceurs who participate in Parkour define this interesting physical activity simple as "Parkour is Parkour".
There are a number of characteristics of Parkour that lend to the idea that it can build overall physical fitness. One of the most important characteristics is efficiency when it comes to Parkour, as practitioners are urged not only to move quickly, but also using the most direct route and the least possible energy consuming way as well.
It is this characteristic of Parkour that sets it apart from free running, which is a similar practice but instead puts a great deal more emphasis on freedom of movement like acrobatics. Efficiency is also a way to avoid injuries, which makes it an excellent way to build strength and endurance while avoiding strain or injury in the process.
Parkour involves movements of all types, and also requires that the entire body be used to move from one place to another. Parkour involves climbing, jumping, running, using arms and legs to vault the body from one surface to another, and so many other actions in between.
Parkour requires that the body be in strong physical shape in order to be successful at overcoming some of the greater obstacles, and people who practice Parkour will continue to build strong bodies, enhancing their natural endurance, strength and overall conditioning in the process.
Anyone who is looking for a challenge that will allow them to fine tune their bodies into well conditioned machines can benefit from training in Parkour, which will allow them to strengthen every aspect of their core and their body, building strength and endurance, and learning some great lessons about overcoming obstacles both physically and mentally in the process.
