"One Day I was Driving trough my neighborhood in Mission Viejo and I saw a teenage boy working with his fitness trainer. I slowed down as I was taken by the amount of focus the trainer was putting toward the teenager and by his innovative method of training. As I drove away something told me to turn the car around and speak to the trainer. I asked him, "Do you train older people?" He gave me a big smile and said, "Sure". Like many people, I had been a good athlete and fit most of my life but those days were past. When Gabriyel arrived for my first session my movement was very restricted from old sports injuries and a basic fear of re-injuring myself this late in life and ending up down for the count. During our workouts he gave me his complete attention. Like a great poker player Gabriyel read every nuance of my body's reaction to my workout. He knows when to hold and when to fold. I developed a deep trust in him. I told him about hike i love in Laguna Beach. It is called the Valido Trail, off of West Street and PCH. As I got stronger and braver I ask him if we could make one of our training sessions a hike up the Valido Trail. He was delighted. We made the hike on a beautiful day in May. When we finished the hike, Gabriyel told me how proud he was of me. He asked me if he could take my picture to remember the day. For whatever reason, my crazy female psyche kicked in and I refused. Gabriyel was right...how wonderful it would be, now, to have captured that moment with the joy of personal accomplishment beaming out of me. Thank you Gabriyel. "I started working out with Gabe 3 months after having my first baby. Once pregnant, I had abandoned my previous workout regimen, during which I gained close to 30 lbs. My first one on one session with him was brutal. He had me doing things I had never done before which included pushing him up a hill in a shopping cart. Though I rose to the challenge it was the hardest workout I had ever had in my life. I contemplated quitting right after that session and part of me wondered if that was his intention. After a few one on one sessions, which I struggled through, he suggested I try joining one of his group workouts. I was wary because I always had a one on one trainer in the past and I worried I wouldn't get the same results in a group environment, but I took his advice and joined a group anyway. It was a perfect fit. Most days there are four of us and the workout is just as intense, but for me it is better than working alone because we push each other. Within weeks I felt my strength building and my old pre-baby self coming through. Now close to a year later I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight and stronger than I have ever been. Gabe is a tough trainer with a unique style. Many of the exercises he has us do I had never imagined trying before. I never knew crawling on all fours would be such a great core workout, but it is. My previous workout routine consisted of 5 mile runs twice a week, weight training twice a week and yoga thrown in the mix. Now I workout with Gabe twice a week and do cardio twice a week on my own and I am stronger than I have ever been. There are days when we are all complaining he is being too tough on us or asking too much of us, but he does it all with a smile and I guess that is what he is there to do."

Training with Gabe has been an incredibly challenging and rewarding experience for me. I have trained in various gyms and with various trainers for the past 15-plus years, and as one can imagine, the same old routine after a long period of time can become rather boring. I was pretty burnt out on the same old routine of cardio and weight lifting, and was ready for a change in training style. I found Gabe and he has opened my eyes to a whole new way of training. Each workout is unique and challenges me to push myself into trying new things. We focus a lot on strengthening the core muscles and improving our balance and coordination. Gabe often finds new and exciting ways to turn basic movements into a complete body workout. Often, he will concoct a mix of tools such as kettle bells, bosu balls, jump ropes and the occasional found-object (shopping carts! nearby handrails! walls!), which he manages to incorporate into a very thorough workout. I often wonder….how the heck did he come up with that! I feel that this is truly a gift; Gabe is an artist of sorts, seeing perfect order and a bigger picture of fitness when he looks at these simple items and turns them into an amazing work out. I am finding strength (and soreness!) in places I never knew where there. Gabe’s training has also promoted balance and coordination that I’d never experienced before. I feel healthier and more agile/fit than I ever have. No matter what your fitness level may be, I guarantee you will find training with Gabe to be a fun, rewarding and unique experience. After believing I tried almost every kind of workout from boot camp to Pilates to boxing, I came across Gabe. Gabe introduced me to using resistance and my own body weight through strengthening exercises. He will have me do anything from trying to run away from him with an elastic band around my waist (trust me you don’t get far) to being in plank position then crawling up the wall with my feet to a handstand and back down again. Each session has never been the same. He keeps switching things up and adding new strange routines to workout a new muscle. I am a woman who has a lot of muscle tone and can build up quickly, which isn’t always a plus for a woman. Gabe taught me how to lean out my body by food and circuit training of cardio and my own weight. For you people who are afraid of running for an hour, don’t worry, Gabe will find an inventive way to make you sweat. I have had days where we just go up and down a hill, but mind, you are sweating heavily because he has you jumping the whole way or carrying a 50 lb body or in plank position moving sideways up and down the hill. Gabe is a supportive coach and trainer who doesn’t let you cut corners. He truly wants to help you get to your healthiest point possible and it does take hard work. His routines are fun, challenging and different from all the other workouts you have had in the past. I’m sure he will be the first trainer to ever give you gloves from Home Depot for your workout! FROM:) Alice Ng,Things that set Gabriyel's style of training apart from the rest of the crowd.
1. His patience. I'm 50 years old, never been coordinated nor athletic in my life. A simple jump is difficult for me to master. He takes the time to explain every move and how to do it and if you can't, he will modify the move to work the same muscles but in a way that you can accomplish the goal. I'm not saying that he makes it easier. He doesn't, but his knowledge of the muscles and the human body allows him to modify whatever move it is so that the goal of working out that muscle is accomplished.
2. His philosophy is NOT to tie you to a gym and a gym membership. He teaches you to work your muscles and especially your core by using things around your home. You don't have to buy expensive machines. His knowledge is vast. And if you can't do the movement, he's patient enough to take the weight away and teach you the movement till you have it down, then he adds the weight back to really work the muscles.
3. He's not interested in showing off his physique although it's pretty obvious he has a good one. Unlike some trainers who dress to impress, Gabriyel is confident enough never to show off. He's more interested in teaching you than watching how he looks. And he is fully present when he is training you. He doesn't get easily distracted. He pays attention to you. He listens to you. He really cares and he wants your feedback and will modify routines based on your input.
4. He's not a drill sergeant, he gently motivates. Some people like this, some people don't; some people need someone pounding out a rhythm, he doesn't do that. He does motivate you to give your best effort.
5. He talks quietly and is more than willing to share all his knowledge. He is truly interested in your advancement.
FROM:) Cynthia GutteridgeSo you think you are "FIT",...think again! As a former runner, gym goer, aerobic class taker (Spin class, Pilates, etc...) I tought I was fit. But to be honest with you, I was starting to get bored. Nothing seem to be enough of a challenge any more and I thought:"Ok, I have reached my top." So I started looking into working out with a private trainer, since I started loosing interest in training by myself. Well let me tell you, the private trainers at my local 24 Hour Fitness gym seem to be doing exactly what I was doing on my own. But I thought that at least I will be motivated, and after watching them day after day, after day. I couldn't justify to pay them for something I was already doing on my own. That's when I heard about Gabriyel "the trainer" and I thought; "Why not, what can be so different"? I took an offer to train free for a week. I figured I had nothing to lose, right? Well, I was wrong! For the first time in my life not only did I feel out of shape, but I also realized that I have never been challenged athletically. I guess, I found what I needed. The next day there wasn't a muscle that wasn't sore. That just never happened to me before! The end result of all this, is that I finally feel fit. I'm tight everywhere, my body has definitely changed, to the better of course. I'm so happy and so glad that I found Gabriyel. ((Please take the challenge of that free week, it will change you and your life forever.)) I'm still running but without Gabriyel's interval fitness program, I don't think I would've achieved my optimal fitness. Hello Gabriyel, as a client of yours I can only base my testimony on the results of the training. And to be honest, my body, the way it looks, the way I look, I like it a lot! I do feel it on everyday basis, when at work it gets easier to do tasks such as lifting. Movements of my body in general, I feel stronger. The training itself is fun, really fun. I do enjoy it tremendously, you make it fun, and your knowledge about nutrition also helps me a lot, IMPRESSIVE! And as a friend on the other hand I really enjoy the friendship we have. I’ve always known that the key to reach my goal of having a healthy, fit body is a balance diet and exercise however despite my many efforts I hadn’t found the right diet or trainer until I met Gabriyel. I was looking for someone who truly had a love for fitness because I didn’t want to be just another client who was brining in some business. I wanted someone who would challenge me by pushing me to my limits. I know I found the right trainer because for Gabriyel “sports are his passion”. Being a fifth grade teacher, I get home exhausted with little or no energy and the last thing I want to do is exercise yet I look forward to each exercise session with Gabriyel because I know that all I need to do is get in my car and drive to the gym once there I know he will find a way to motivate me. His workouts are unlike anything out there. I would say his workouts are very modern, fun but most important effective. I remember the day after our first workout I couldn’t believe how sore my entire body was, especially my stomach muscles yet I don’t remember doing any traditional, boring sit-ups which I’ve done so many of before with no results. At the end of my workout, I always feel energized and I leave the gym fulfilled knowing that I worked out to my potential and all the while having fun. I am a mother of three. My boys are 9, 4 1/2, & 3 years of age. My last two pregnancies were back to back so my body never really had a chance to get back to it's "normal state". I have worked out most of my life. I began weight training at the age of 16. I was self disciplined,.....going to the gym with no appointments necessary. Over time I became bored and burned out with weight training, so I stopped training all together. Then I had my first baby. It was then I realized I had to take matters into my own hands,......scratch that,.....I had to take matters to a trainers hands. I began training with a fitness trainer. (Not Gabe yet.) It motivated me and it did some good for my body but not enough. Gym appointment with a trainer got me to the gym. However I needed a fitness trainer who'd challenged me. I've always thrived on a challenge. So the search was on! Over time each fitness trainer I contracted was more difficult & challenging then the previous one. And just when I thought I had discovered the best trainer of all times, well, I was mistaken. Then I found Gabriyel. Within minutes of my first session I knew this man knew what he was doing. Needless to say I signed on with Gabriyel. And yes things changed. I actually looked forward to my training,....to actually eating right. I looked forward to new me, or my old self.
